I had read Sky in the Deep by Adrienne Young. It didn't take long for me to finish and it had the right amount of everything. Romance, war, family. The main character Eelyn is all about family. Until she crosses enemy lines and finds her brother who was suppose to be dead fighting against her. During this book we are taken through many things the characters go through. They have to live with an enemy of different blood, tradition, and gods. The romance was vivid but it was there. So at the end I was very satisfied and that doesn't normally happen.  Eelyn is in the middle of a battle but when she spots her brother she stops and takes a hit to the shoulder by another soldier. Eelyn lost her mother when she was young. She has to go through painful trials when she is forced to live with the enemies, who killed her mother, until she is healed well enough to go home. But while she stays she comes to realize that these other Vikings are exactly like her and her family. They are both hunted by another tribe of Vikings who have a bigger amount number of people. And one night when they attack her and the people during her recovery she can't help but save them. Family is a big thing for Eelyn. Just because they believe in different gods doesn't make them different people. It was a beautiful, badass storyline that I loved, and would love to read more by this author.
